Scanprobe Announce Partnership With American Tool Company Spartan

Posted on: April 20th, 2017

Scanprobe Spartan PartnershipScanprobe are pleased to announce a partnership with American Tool Company Spartan who are now distributing the Scanprobe manufactured Maxprobe CCTV camera range in every state of America and all terittories of Canada. The range has been rebranded Explorer for the North American market.

Spartan Tool was founded in 1943 and manufacturers professional grade sewer & drain cleaning equipment. They are based in Illinois and Michigan, USA.

Spartan Tool had been looking for a drain line inspection system with advanced technology to expand its sewer camera line and they were attracted to the Maxprobe range for its modular innovative design, robust construction and updateable software which they believe will resonate with North American consumers. The WinCan software is an additional advantage that uniquely allows a survey report to be sent directly to the cloud, where it can be downloaded and viewed anywhere in the world.

The Explorer range was launched at the The Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport Show (WWETT) in Indianapolis, Indiana, which is the world’s largest annual trade show for the environmental service profession.

Maxprobe Web Ready Capability – “Pipe to Pocket” in an instant

Posted on: January 16th, 2017

Web Ready is WinCan’s latest initiative that allows direct connection & upload of CCTV data to WinCan Web and this capability now comes as an integral part of the Maxprobe pipe inspection system range from Scanprobe. WinCan Web is a cloud transfer & delivery tool for CCTV inspection data. This could be upload & delivery of finalised inspection data from WinCan VX or transfer of data directly from WinCan Embedded hardware. No burning, postage, hunting for lost DVD’s, software installation or worries about codec playback issues. Simply upload & publish the report to the client. Once published the client has access on any device, anytime, anywhere…. Web intelligently switches from desktop view to mobile view so project access is simply on your desk or in your pocket.

web ready Maxprobe web ready2

For many years WinCan Embedded has allowed industry standard data input on site incorporated into camera system hardware. No PC or further Licences required. Data transfer was then done manually to the office based WinCan licence by USB memory stick. For some clients this lag in delivery has become an important issue. Speed from site survey to client report delivery needed improving. Adding the functionality of Web Ready to WinCan Embedded has moved things on to the next step… it’s moved online!

Web Ready allows connection to WinCan Web with remote upload from any location with Internet access. Simply complete the project in the normal way using WinCan Embedded then instead of exporting the job to USB stick simply upload to WinCan Web. The project can then be published to customer for review of Video, downloaded to office for pre delivery QA or stored in the cloud for security & peace of mind. Immediate delivery from site is now a simple integrated process.

Look out for systems supporting the Web Ready feature to ensure speedy cloud delivery direct from any location.

Web Ready, it’s the only way to go and currently Scanprobe are the only manufacturer to offer the ability to push survey information directly to WinCan WEB for the push camera itself!

CCTV Drain Camera sales at Scanprobe continue to show strong growth in 2016, boosted by the award winning Maxprobe pipe inspection system which has made such a strong impact since it’s launch last year. The latest consignment of 19 Maxprobe drain camera systems have now been successfully delivered to a well known national hire company.

The process started in June 2015 with the question to Vernon Pain, Sales Manager at Scanprobe “so what makes your camera better than everyone else’s?” The Commercial Director must have been impressed with the response and a month later Scanprobe were presenting the Maxprobe to their purchasing team. Over the next 4 months they looked at and compared our competitors’ products to the Maxprobe whilst maintaining regular communication with us and their Senior Supply Chain Manager paid a visit to our Kenley facility to inspect each area of our business.

We are pleased to announce that the Maxprobe proved to be the best product for a plant hire company who really know their business. They wanted a CCTV drain camera that is durable, easy to use, simple to maintain and can be used in inclement weather whilst giving a great return on their investment.

Scanprobe Supports Brockham Emergency Response Team (BERT)

Posted on: July 10th, 2015

The  volunteer Brockham Emergency Response Team (BERT) established following the dreadful flooding in the village of Christmas 2013 has been buoyed by the generous support of Scanprobe of Kenley (Caterham) who have provided a Maxprobe Pipeline Inspection System. The equipment has a camera connected with a computer that allows for the inspection of culverts and drains with the ability to record what is going on in hidden places that may lead to flooding. This evidence can be used to fix the problem or be transmitted to Surrey County Highways. The camera was purchased with the generous support of Scanprobe,  additional fundraising from an event at the Royal Oak, Brockham, the Community Foundation of Surrey and the Gatwick Airport Community Trust.

The chairman of BERT Bob Thomas said, “BERT are delighted by the support of Scanprobe who along with the financial support of Brockham people and the two charities have allowed us to purchase this remarkable piece of equipment, which will enhance the effectiveness of the Team for many years to come. It is anticipated that BERT will soon start progressive surveys of the key culverts and drains within the Brockham area as part of our maintenance on behalf of the community and steer the statutory services to problems that we cannot resolve alone.” Scanprobe are to visit Brockham to train members of BERT in the use of the equipment.

Why MaxProbe?

Posted on: July 4th, 2015

Latest innovation.

For the past 3 years the Scanprobe Technical team have had meetings and put their creative and brilliant ideas together to design a CCTV drainage system that will shape the future.  From their company headquarters in Surrey, the Maxprobe was born.

Unlike current Units on the market, the Maxprobe offers updatable software, so your system will never be left behind with the fast pace of technology.

How is this going to benefit yourselves as customers you ask?

maxprobe pushrod drain system

Maxprobe Pipe Inspection System with Wincan Embedded Reporting Software as standard

The idea was born by Scanprobe’s in house research and development technical technician Alex Rose. At the start he had the idea and pushed for longevity in a system that always offer the latest software similar to a pc. This means if you require personal touches it can be done via the click of a button. Updates from Wincan V8, Wincan VX all updated as standard.

This also means that we don’t sit still and always look to improve the Maxprobe’s usability (with updates offered via email) you can keep up to date with the latest and most innovative software offered to the drainage community.

One of the main issues to come to the design table was being able to see the picture in direct sunshine. “We’re constantly having to shield the monitor with our jackets” said Toby Green (the head of Scanprobe CCTV on-site surveying team).

With this in mind the design team at Scanprobe tested in excess of 50 LCD screens to find the most suited to the harsh conditions of the drainage world. The 10.4” sunlight-readable screen was a revelation, not only was it larger than most competitors, it offered a fantastic image when viewed in direct sunlight.

The next problem faced by the team was the issue of rain and snow. “It has to be waterproof to at least IP54” demanded Harry (the head of Scanprobe’s customer service dept). With this issue in mind the keypad was the first to embrace the changes required. Existing units on the market have kept the old membrane design. Which is fine for ingress protection but very slow and antiquated when typing.

The first option Scanprobe discussed was touch screen. Excellent in clean dry conditions but, (as we all know!) drainage is far from clean and certainly not dry. Let’s be clear having engineers taking off their gloves to touch screens in the field of drainage is completely ludicrous. Also if touch screens get wet the text/image will become unstable making the unit impractical and profitless. After much deliberation, a fully waterproof rubber qwerty keypad was decided on. This gives you the advantage of typing quickly and easily with the confidence that rain and snow won’t affect its usability.

After sealing the LCD screen and some other modifications, not only did the Maxprobe pass IP54 testing it was given an IP64 tested certificate.

maxprobe screens

Storage was the next hurdle. The common denominator was which device would offer the best recording facility. A lot of the discussion was based on the issues of reliability. With this in mind the team agreed a solid-state drive was the most unassailable option. So 32gb of internal storage would be offered as standard with the option to increase this to 1 terabyte. With regard to exporting data, the team decided to offer as much choice as possible. With this in mind X2 USB ports, X1 SD port, an Ethernet port and Wi-Fi was installed as standard.

The Wi-Fi offers the concept of emailing complete surveys direct to the client via a cloud for them to download to their PC. This is something Scanprobe is working closely with Win-can over and hope to release this shortly.

Welcome to the world of Maxprobe! With its Futureproof capabilities, stunning range of embedded surveying software and truly next generation style and feel, buying the Maxprobe is just the start. Come on the technical journey with us and the Maxprobe will be the last camera you will need to purchase.

High Quality Pipe Inspection Images Captured By The Maxprobe

Maxprobe Pipe Inspection System with Wincan Embedded Reporting Software as standard

When purchasing a new CCTV drain camera a top consideration will be, does the unit capture high quality pipe inspection images? The Maxprobe from Scanprobe has an impressive specification and the picture quality is further enhanced while on site with the day light readable 10 inch screen which allows clear viewing during periods of bright sunlight . The Maxprobe camera unit delivers the following industry leading statistics:

Video Statistics:

Resolution = 720 x 576

Frames per Second = 25

Bitrate = 1500 kbps (average – will vary depending on movement and amount of colour) Video Encoder = H264 MPEG-4(part 10 -avc1)

* This video encoder provides highly efficient encoding so you obtain a better quality video for a smaller file size.

* This encoder gives more fluent and better quality playback than older encoders.

* Includes a modern encoding mechanism supported by most video players.

Display Statistics:

Size = 10.4″

Resolution = SVGA (800 x 600)

Number of Colours = 262k

DPI = 96 dpi (seems to be the statistic that smartphone/tablet/laptop manufacturers like to use and defines the pixels per inch)

* Large viewing area for videos on the Maxprobe, 86% of available screen real estate used to display video on recording and playback

Below are some recent examples of very high quality images captured directly by the Maxprobe:

High Quality Pipe Inspection Images

Badly fitting supersleeve pipework with shingle coming through from ground
